CiM - Creation Is Messy 2023 New Color - Lychee Milky Ltd Run

As we come to the end of March, the weather is expected to kick up another storm before we enter April. 

I think this is a good post to show a spring themed Goddess bead set with little silver glass storms captured under clear portals.

This set started on a base of CiM - Creation Is Messy’s new Lychee Milky Ltd Run for 2023. 

It is an ivory misty/milky opal. I had previously tested it's misty sister with silver glass - click here to see that post.

Layers of Effetre Light Ivory, CiM's Leaky Pen were placed and capped with Double Helix silver glass named OX-380, a peridot green, jewel super luster. 

The silver glass was stormed and reduced and captured under clear portals of Double Helix Zephyr. 

Photographs never properly show the mother of pearl and mirror shine that each "bump" has captured. I plan to post a video on IG/Facebook to show just how beautiful these beads are when the angle of light changes.

To complete each bead, dots of silver infused OX-380 was added and reduced to a metallic shine.

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2023 New Color - Bear Hug Misty Ltd Run

Good Morning Glass Bead Friends!

Let's get right to today's new beads!

This glittering set of beads was created with a base of CiM's newest brown misty opal Bear Hug Misty, on which Double Helix silver glass, OX-380 frit was added.

OX-380 was a test glass on which Double Helix created Oxalis. 

It is a Super Luster in a transparent green-blue glass. 

This set is a mix of barrel and round beads to provide variety for jewelry designs.

When it is reduced to glittering goodness.

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2023 New Color - Walmea Misty Ltd Run

Today's post highlights another new 2023 CiM - Creation Is Messy color.

Waimea Misty Ltd Run is a teal misty opal. According to the CiM website, this color was an attempt to reproduce CiM Jade Palace into a misty/milky; the resulting color turned out very similar to 2022's Consuelo Misty/Milky.

Sharing today, the first set are Goddess beads were created using Waimea Misty Ltd Run as the base glass.

Layered dots of CiM’s Birchwood, Barrier Reef and Black Currant were added. 

Double Helix Psyche Light was used to create the stormed portals captured under Zephyr encasements. 

Dots of Double Helix Psyche complete each bead. 

Spacers are pure Waimea Misty.

By using various glass combinations, it provides more variety in the beads within this set.

This focal bead was created with the remainder of the Waimea rod with streams of DH Psyche encased in Zephyr. 

The 2 spacers are pure Waimea Misty to show the true color of the glass.

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2023 New Color - Aubergine Milky Ltd Run

Today's weather forecast is calling for snow. 

I am hoping this storm passes north of us as we have more than enough white stuff on the ground now.

As March in New Brunswick came in as a lamb I am expecting this week to be a storming lion as the month ends and turns to April spring weather.

Sharing today, these Goddess beads were created using Aubergine Milky Ltd Run as the base glass.Layered dots of CiM’s Birchwood and Black Currant were added. 

Various Double Helix silver glasses including Eros, Olympia Rain, Notos, KA-357 and 2016 Garage Sale glass coded ch.a were also used to create the stormed portals captured under Zephyr encasements. 

Dots of Double Helix OX 376 complete each bead.  You will notice that the silver glass after being reduced to a shine has also fumed the Aubergine Milky to a darker tone with a golden sheen.

The spacer at each end shows the true color of the base glass of Aubergine Milky.

By using various glass combinations, it provides more variety in the beads within this set.

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2023 New Color - Amazon Misty Ltd Run

Happy Saturday everyone!

The sun is shining and after a few days of snow this week, I am looking forward to warming up the studio and completing my 2023 CiM - Creation Is Messy color testing. I have been pleased with all the colors offered this year in their misty and milky forms.

I took the opportunity to get in a glass order of some CiM glasses that Nortel still had available to add to my glass stash including Eggplant, Barrier Reef and Raindrop. Those will be great for some of the bead sets that I have planned for later this spring.

For today's post I am sharing a quick set of CiM's new 2023 Amazon Misty Ltd Run as I tested it with Double Helix silver glass.

Amazon Misty was based on an older CiM color named Rainforest which is a greenish opal teal. Amazon is being offered in both a misty and milky version for 2023.

Below is a photo of the original Rainforest with handmade Raku shards from a post in 2018. Click here if you are interested.

For this big hole bead set, I started with a base of Amazon Misty on which I sprinkled and melted in from Double Helix Kronos frit and streamed some Notos silver glass. 

The mother of pearl and color striations were captured under an encasement of Zephyr clear glass. This flat barrel tab measures 27mm hole to hole.

The 4 spacers are pure Amazon misty to show the base glass in comparison.

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2023 New Color - Volcanic Ash Misty Ltd Run

As a CiM - Creation Is Messy glass user, each new year my initial tests usually pair new glass colors with silver. I use 99% fine silver wire, foil and silver infused glass from Double Helix.

Today's glass is Volcanic Ash Misty Ltd Run which is a remelt based on an older CiM color named French Grey turned into a misty opal. 

French Grey loves silver glass and I used it back in March 2016.

This set below consists of a focal heart and 2 round beads. It was created on a base of CiM Volcanic Ash Misty with a central sweep of Double Helix Garage Sale 2016 test glass coded as Op.e. This is a speckled silver glass similar to Double Helix Ossa. 

Each bead was encased with Zephyr, my favourite clear. 

The spacers are Volcanic Ash Misty to show the pure grey hue.

The photo below shows a couple more experiment beads using a swipe of Riley Dichro Pink/Teal Crinkle, streams of Double Helix Oracle Violet Opal under a final encasement of Zephyr. Cube spacers are pure CiM base glass.

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2023 New Color - Cremello Milky Ltd Run

CiM’s new Cremello Milky Ltd Run is a white milky opal with a hint of peach introduced as part of the 2023 new palette of limited run colors.

It melts smoothly and is very pretty with a gentle sprinkling of my own Pendragonfyre frit with a hint of wild raspberry. 

The touch of raku in my frit blooms to create a tapestry look to each bead. 

These would also be interesting to see as an etched set, though I haven't yet tried that.

Spacers are pure Cremello Milky.

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2023 New Color - Niagara Misty Ltd Run

Happy Sunday Glass Artists!

 

I am still in the midst for working through the new 2023 CiM Creation Is Messy Limited Run colors. I anticipate each spring's new offerings and I am so excited to share details with you as I experiment with each new palette!

Each of the posts over the next couple of weeks will highlight a new color as my catalogue of colors!

For today's post I dusted off my big hole mandrels for a handful of beads with this beautiful waterfall hue, the new Niagara Misty Ltd Run, slightly bluish teal misty opal.

CiM's Niagara Misty is the canvas on which Goldstone frit was generously sprinkled.

Each round bead was encased Double Helix Zephyr clear glass to capture and magnify the bling and add sparkle to spring!

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2023 New Color - Kiwi Milky Ltd Run

Just a quick post for a simple set of glass frit beads.

 

CiM - Creation Is Messy's new Kiwi Milky Ltd Run introduced for 2023 melts smoothly and is very pretty with a gentle sprinkling of Val Cox Trickster glass frit. 

 

 

This glass is the milky sister of the lime green opal for this year.

 

Beautiful for spring.
There is a gentle pink blush to these beads from the frit. Spacers are pure Kiwi Milky.

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2023 New Color - Delft Misty Ltd Run

CiM Creation Is Messy created a number of new limited run colors for 2023 that were based on popular colors from the past.

Today, I am showing off a couple of beads for the new Delft Misty Ltd Run.

Delft is based on the former CiM Ming opal glass introduced a number of years ago. It was so similar to CiM Cornflower that I don't think I ever actually tried Ming.  I have used Cornflower many times, check out some of my past post here of this lovely blue opaque glass.

 

You may want to check with Jennifer and Jean at Nortel to see if they still have some stock of Ming or Cornflower available if you want to try it along with the new 2023 Delft!

CiM - Creation Is Messy's Delft blue opal the is offered in both a misty and milky version.
The beads within this post are created with the misty sister.
 

I used Delft Misty as the base on which a layer of Jetage Studio's Lumiere Luster named Maleficent was added. 

 

 

 

Maleficent is a gorgeous color shifting flake of intense deep blues that shifts to magenta-red  to orange and gold depending on the angle it is viewed. 

It lightens considerably when used in glass work but I liked how it worked in this barrel bead.

 

 
The luster glitter flakes were encased with Double Helix Zephyr but I left the end of the bead pure Delft Misty.

 

I wrapped and melted in some 99% fine silver wire along the end of the bead for added shine.
The spacers are pure Delft Misty to show the base color blue hue.

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2023 New Color - Kiwi Misty Ltd Run

Today, I am introducing you to a new 2023 green from CiM - Creation Is Messy named Kiwi. Kiwi is a lime green opal the is offered in both a misty and milky version.
The beads within this post are created with the misty sister.

First up, I used Kiwi Misty as the base on which a layer of Jetage Studio's Lumiere Luster named Strawberry Rhubarb was added and then encased with Double Helix Zephyr. 

 

 

The spacers are pure Kiwi Misty to show the base color directly.

 

 
This set of goddess series beads was created on a base of CiM's Kiwi Misty Ltd Run glass. 

 

 

Each goddess bead was then layered with dots of CiM's Cafe Au Lait, Double Helix's Blue Catalyst glass named ES405, a 2016 Garage Sale rod coded CL.a. 

 

 

The combination of the glasses create the multi-hued portals captured under each clear glass dot of Zephyr.  

 

 

Double Helix OX-376 completes the metallic highlight droplets on each bead.

In this post, I chose new Amazon Milky Ltd Run to highlight.

CiM has created a misty and milky opal version of their previous color named Rainforest.
