CiM - Creation Is Messy 2023 New Color - Walmea Misty Ltd Run

Today's post highlights another new 2023 CiM - Creation Is Messy color.

Waimea Misty Ltd Run is a teal misty opal. According to the CiM website, this color was an attempt to reproduce CiM Jade Palace into a misty/milky; the resulting color turned out very similar to 2022's Consuelo Misty/Milky.

If you want to see my posts on these two glasses - check these out:
Jade Palace from August 2011
Consuelo Misty from May 2022

Sharing today, the first set are Goddess beads were created using Waimea Misty Ltd Run as the base glass.

Layered dots of CiM’s Birchwood, Barrier Reef and Black Currant were added.

Double Helix Psyche Light was used to create the stormed portals captured under Zephyr encasements.

Dots of Double Helix Psyche complete each bead.

Spacers are pure Waimea Misty.

By using various glass combinations, it provides more variety in the beads within this set.

This focal bead was created with the remainder of the Waimea rod with streams of DH Psyche encased in Zephyr.

The 2 spacers are pure Waimea Misty to show the true color of the glass.

I have checked availability of the new 2023 colors as In Stock on Nortel Glass' online shopping cart.

February Flashback - Double Helix Glassworks - The Glory of Silver Infused Colors! Part 2

Closing off this month of February Flashbacks with another post sharing some of how I use Double Helix glasses.

Each of these sets are from the past and are not currently available for sale.

On a base of CiM's African Grey opaque glass, fine silver foil was melted in.
Shards of Double Helix Terranova 2.1 silver infused glass was added and
struck to bring out the amazing hues of magenta, blue and green.
The silver microdroplets have a stunning golden sheen to complete each bead.

This set of 5 encased round beads were created on a base of Double Helix silver glass, Ekho. This glass starts as a beige transparent, but when each bead core was wrapped in 99% fine silver wire and reduced to create the dramatic hues of blues, golds, greens, ambers and cream. Each result was then captured under a thick encasement of Effetre clear glass.

This set of 13 encased round beads were created on a base of rare Double Helix silver glass known as Psyche Light. Each bead core was wrapped in 99% fine silver wire and reduced to create the intense variations in color. Each result was then captured under a thick encasement of Double Helix's clear Aether glass. Aether when heated just right transforms silver to a golden glow!
Enjoy the mystical silver glass in this unique and one of a kind set!

Starting with a base of Double Helix' Clio silver infused glass, a ring of silvered
ivory stringer was added, reduced to bring the silver to the surface and
encased under a clear glass encasement to magnify the glow from inside effect.
With hues of amber, pink, purple and blue, these are truly unique for your glass designs.

Double Helix Aurae streams glitter on a base of Effetre Purple Red to create an oriental
feel to these 12 round beads. Add some glitter to your winter jewelry designs.

I hope everyone has enjoyed this month's posts and I look forward to March blogs to explore the new CiM 2023 colors as well as a number of CiM Restocks that are currently being offered and available at Nortel.

More testing new glasses!

This post continues to share testing with some new Creation is Messy glasses introduced  earlier this spring.

Silver foil and Pendragonfyre hand blended frit was layered on CiM’s Toto Ltd Run. The results are beautiful with the micro silver droplets and hues of green, blues and purples creating dragon scales. I left these glossy, but they would be earthy with a quick roll in the tumbler.

A look of tie-dyed patterns was revealed in this next set using Double Helix Psyche Light over a base of CiM’s Byzantium Ltd Run, a purple moonstone. In a mixture of bead shapes, the twists and swirls of the silver glass created a perfect set for a bracelet.

I enjoy taking time to create simple round beads challenging to make them small to practice how many I can make on one mandrel. I had lots of fun with CiM’s rare Gooseberry and CiM’s Byzantium Ltd Run
I love these 2 colours together as they remind me of summer berries and currants.

I loved the colour combination that I continued with another set and added CiM Thistledown Ltd Run to the mix. Very pretty.

A new pale green opaque glass from Creation is Messy is Pistachio Ice Cream Ltd Run. I tried a quick bead set with White Effetre and CiM Hades dots. In the spacers there was no separation line of the glass, however with the addition of the dots and reheating, the focal bead does reveal the striation of the green hue.

CiM Moonlight Ltd Run is a pale steel blue transparent glass. I sprinkled and melted in Glass Diversion’s Dynasty Marble Frit and allowed the frit to spread and swirl. The spacers are simply CiM Moonlight.

Finally, a simple set of hand formed tube beads on a base of CiM Coronation Day Ltd Run with a layer of Gaffer purple extra fine frit. The richness of the purple base of Coronation is deep and dark allowing the patterns to form and reach out in Gaffer purple gloriousness!

CiM Color Testing 2014 - New Reds - Firecracker, Bing and Rudolph Ltd Runs

Hello!

I have to admit that I have been "in hibernation" mode over the past couple months and ask forgiveness to everyone for that! LOL.
This past winter has been a killer in Northeastern Canada and as a result, my time at my torch has been limited to mild days when my studio could be warmed up enough to ensure the "Glass Gods" would be kind.

Over the past couple of weekends, it has been acceptable weather to spend some time back in the studio and over the next couple of blog posts, I will share my recent CiM glass testing results.

Topic of this post are the CiM Red palette:
There are lots of new red limited runs from CiM over the past 2 quarters including Firecracker, Bing and Rudolph.

Usually most red can be a bit fussy in striking, but CiM never disappoints and combining it with my beloved silver glass creates some wonderful reactions.

As you will see, these CiM Reds strike easily and stay true red and are great paired with gleaming silver infused glasses!  Can you see that Red is a favorite color of mine!

First a photo of the group of test beads:
