CiM Color Testing 2014 - Alley Cat Ltd Run and Grape Ape

I love this color combination!

CiM's Alley Cat Ltd Run and Grape Ape are both at times streaky but paired together create an exotic mix of rich hues.

Alley Cat is a vibrant, opaque orange and Grape Ape is a grapey purple opaque.
Both colors are great additions to my glass palette.

Highlights of Double Helix's Aurae silver infused glass create bling and really play to Alley Cat's beauty!

CiM Color Testing 2014 - Weimaraner Ltd Run

There are multiple types of gray opaques out in the glass world ranging in undertones of green, brown and blue. Weimaraner Ltd Run is CiM's offering for an opaque blu-ish gray.

It is a streaky gray and provides some interesting reactions in these dotted beads below.
Mixed with Effetre White, CiM's Desert Pink and rare CiM Razzleberry, the result is both classic and retro! These beads remind me of 1950's soft pinks and poodle skirts!

CiM Color Testing 2014 - New Reds - Firecracker, Bing and Rudolph Ltd Runs

Hello!

I have to admit that I have been "in hibernation" mode over the past couple months and ask forgiveness to everyone for that! LOL.
This past winter has been a killer in Northeastern Canada and as a result, my time at my torch has been limited to mild days when my studio could be warmed up enough to ensure the "Glass Gods" would be kind.

Over the past couple of weekends, it has been acceptable weather to spend some time back in the studio and over the next couple of blog posts, I will share my recent CiM glass testing results.

Topic of this post are the CiM Red palette:
There are lots of new red limited runs from CiM over the past 2 quarters including Firecracker, Bing and Rudolph.

Usually most red can be a bit fussy in striking, but CiM never disappoints and combining it with my beloved silver glass creates some wonderful reactions.

As you will see, these CiM Reds strike easily and stay true red and are great paired with gleaming silver infused glasses!  Can you see that Red is a favorite color of mine!

First a photo of the group of test beads:

Catching up on 2014 Posts!

WOW! Will this winter ever end..... it just seems to get colder and more snow falls!

For those not in the northern climate, this winter has put a real damper on beadmaking!
My studio is in a separate building on my property and as a result, it requires several hours of wood heat to bring the air temperature to a proper environment for glass!

As a result, I have been short on bead sets and a bit creative stiffled!

So what do you do when that happens?  Well, I go on an adventure!
More on that in a separate blog post....

In the meantime, here are some recently sold sets off to their new homes!
