of Effetre's Light Lavender opaque glass. Glass frit in the shades
of blues, greens, and purples was carefully sprinkled and
Double Helix Aurae accents were added and gently reduced
to bring out the metallic glitter!
Along with 6 light lavender spacers, this total of 27 beads in this
set are complete for the welcoming of spring 2010!

I want to introduce you to a talented jewelry artist that I have recently met through my E-Bay auctions. It gives me such pride to see how my beads (my babies!!) go out into the world and combine into such beautiful and intricate designs.

Marina Aivar and her jewelry line named Designs by Nikol are a mix of lampwork beads and beadwoven chains of seed beads. Each is unique and a true work of artistry.

Although it may look like the Momma Robin has been busy.... these are actual
beads that I completed over the last weekend of March 2009.
(If you still don't believe me... check out the top bead...
you can just see the hole slightly on the side)
Roba Koza has a beautiful frit, Robin's Egg, and well it is
pretty accurate in its coloring.



Normally I do not repeat sets, but once a year I will create these beads and
offer one set to buyers via E-Bay. Making them gets me in a "spring-forward"
mood and I am sure the person who wears these will feel the same.

This year's offering is a 17 bead set on a base of Effetre White with a
delicate sprinkling of Robin Egg frit.

This set is a variety mix of shapes and sizes using Double Helix silver infused
glasses including, Aurae, Ekho as well as rare test glasses known as
KA-357 and TE-315. These silver glasses when reduced and encased
capture the most beautiful color shifting mother of pearl hues of pink and
blues. When used as a surface decoration, the metallic reduction of the
silver infused glass which also fumed the golden hues to the pink base glass.

This is a one of a kind selection set of these most beautiful spring pastel
beads that can be mixed and matched in a variety of art jewelry pieces.

On a base of Effetre pale pink opaque glass, a centre stripe of rare
Double Helix silver infused test glass simply named KA-357 was
reduced and encased to bring out the color shifting mother of pearl hues
of pink and blues. The outside edge of each stripe shows the metallic
reduction of the silver infused glass which also fumed the golden hues
to the pink base glass.

These are so unique as it was a surprise as the hues that the
test glass would bring to each bead. Based on the lighting these beads
shift their colouring from pale pinks to blues.

I've been published!

I am so excited to share with you that my beads have been featured in this month's Bead Trends magazine.


I fashioned them into a simple bracelet for the publication and I am so pleased how the feature turned out!

In her editorial, Editor in Chief, Tatia Meyer writes "it was love at first sight when I first saw Darlene Collette's handmade lampwork beads".

That compliment has made my month!!
