CiM - Creation Is Messy 2021 Colors - Happy Little Potion Bottles

I have been enjoying playing in my studio over the past few weeks while testing the 2021 release of CiM - Creation Is Messy glasses.

I had never tried blowing little bottles before, but was inspired to try after watching a youtube video of a couple of ladies making potion bottles from old Victorian glass they had found while mud larking.

These are far from far from perfection, but they were fun to create and see how the glass moves with the smallest of breath through a blowing pipe.

From left to right the bottles were crafted from:
CiM Streamer coded as 2020.10.29 with streams of CiM Smurfy, Pimento and Sunflower.

CiM Morgan Ltd Run, now sold out, a pink glass offered in 2020 with golden shimmer and a moonstone cast when viewing it at different angles.

CiM Bewitched Ltd Run, a clear base with indigo and purple streamers.

CiM Streamer test glass with gold aventurine streamer. Bottle stopper decoration with Double Helix Aurae dots.

Happy little bottles. My collection will no doubt grow to fill my window ledge.

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2021 Color - Carefree Ltd Run

Carefree Ltd Run is another of the new streamer glasses offered this year by CiM - Creation Is Messy. Carefree is a clear glass base with green, purple, and blue streamers.

I have found that these streamer glasses are beautiful to work with and I enjoy making hollow beads with them.

These simple hollows are made with this glass and the streamers are seen faintly through the bead's circular sphere. 

Definitely want to try this again with shoulder beads of a darker transparent or reduction silver glass.

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2021 Colors - Bird's Nest and Orangezilla Ltd Runs

In this post, I am showing two new 2021 offerings on the CiM - Creation Is Messy palette. 
I spent one torch session working on a new skill of hollow beads. I definitely need more practice but I am quite pleased with my progress so far!

The first new "streamer" in this post is named Bird's Nest Ltd Run. These three hollow beads are a great way to really see the streamers within the glass. The streamers stayed true and the glass melted smoothly and consistently in order to create these hollow rounds.

A new orange from CiM this year is Orangezilla Ltd Run. It is a bright orange that becomes vibrant in the flame. 

The hollow round has stripes of Bird's Nest. 

The spacer beads are pure Orangezilla. 

The barrel bead in the photo below is a core of Bird's Nest with end caps of Orangezilla. 

Bird's Nest spacer beads complete the bead set.

As a final test, I create a bead to test the orange glass in a layered silver glass bead. 

This flat tab bead was created by layering Double Helix Kalypso silver glass over a core of Orangezilla with a clear glass encasement.

It is important to ensure a thin layer of clear glass is placed between the 2 layers to protect the color of the core. I added copper foil dragonflies, reduced the silver glass and encased in Double Helix Zephyr. Creamy pinks and blues resulted with peeks of the juicy orange shows through.

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2021 Colors - Carnival & Horehound Ltd Runs

 In 2020 CiM - Creation Is Messy began creating a selection of glass rod with complimentary streamers of glass encased in the rod of transparent glass.

The designers at CiM continued to develop other streamer rod and 2021 brings lots of options in limited quantities. Over the next few posts I will be showing several of these.
In the bead set below, I paired a streamer glass named Carnival Ltd Run, a light blue transparent base with orange, yellow, green, and white streamers.

The hollow focal bead and small barrel beads were capped on each end with Double Helix Aurae silver glass. Each bead was reduced to bring out the metallic shine.  The spacer beads are pure Carnival glass.

The Carnival glass is elegant in my opinion and would be would be beautiful on a simple silver chain.

CiM introduced a few new browns to their existing color line. 

Horehound Ltd Run is a light transparent brown that really sings with silver glass! This set of beads combined Double Helix Helios streamers reduced to glorious gold metallic shine.

The colors of each glass stayed true with no reaction to the silver and are on my list to order before these limited edition glasses are gone forever.
