CiM - Creation Is Messy 2021 Colors - Reds - Vampire and Firecracker Ltd Runs

This blog post will introduce two new reds for 2021 from CiM - Creation Is Messy.

CiM has always had a wonderful palette of red shades and this year is no exception.

First up is CiM Vampire Ltd Run is an opaque red that I knew would work amazingly with Double Helix striking silver glass.

This set started with a base of Vampire. 

Streams of Double Helix Terra 2 was struck and reduced, copper foil oak and dragonfly inclusions were added and each bead was encased in clear Double Helix Zephyr glass. 

This set has a variety of round, barrel and flat tab bead shapes to complete a set of beads just waiting for the perfect jewelry design.

Vampire had not issues in melting and shaping and the colors that it presented with Terra 2 is glorious.

Another new red, Firecracker Ltd Run, is an opaque dark cherry red that has been remelted for 2021.
I have used it many times with silver glass and it really sings. CiM's website displays some of my previous beads if you are interested.

This time around I used Firecracker with Italian murrini to create some fun and bright round beads. 

I added extra dots to each bead with CiM white Peace and yellow Schoolbus Ltd Run.
As in the past the glass melted beautifully and retained it's cherry red color after a quick striking.

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2021 Colors - Brown Eyed Girl Ltd Run

This post will show some beads with another of the 2021 CiM - Creation Is Messy brown transparents. 

It is very similar to SOLD OUT CiM Maple that was released a few years ago and was lovely with silver applications. Click here to see some of my beads are posted on the CiM Maple website page. 

In this bead set, I used Brown Eyed Girl Ltd Run with silver ivory stringer to create dotted beads. Copper foil dragonflies were encased under Double Helix Zephyr capturing the cluster of the copper on the brown transparent glass. 

The focal barrel bead combined these glasses with CiM's Painted Hills Ltd Run, an opaque yellow, which warmed in the torch to a golden hue.

Spacers of Brown Eyed Girl Ltd Run complete the set.

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2021 Colors - Bird's Nest and Orangezilla Ltd Runs

In this post, I am showing two new 2021 offerings on the CiM - Creation Is Messy palette. 
I spent one torch session working on a new skill of hollow beads. I definitely need more practice but I am quite pleased with my progress so far!

The first new "streamer" in this post is named Bird's Nest Ltd Run. These three hollow beads are a great way to really see the streamers within the glass. The streamers stayed true and the glass melted smoothly and consistently in order to create these hollow rounds.

A new orange from CiM this year is Orangezilla Ltd Run. It is a bright orange that becomes vibrant in the flame. 

The hollow round has stripes of Bird's Nest. 

The spacer beads are pure Orangezilla. 

The barrel bead in the photo below is a core of Bird's Nest with end caps of Orangezilla. 

Bird's Nest spacer beads complete the bead set.

As a final test, I create a bead to test the orange glass in a layered silver glass bead. 

This flat tab bead was created by layering Double Helix Kalypso silver glass over a core of Orangezilla with a clear glass encasement.

It is important to ensure a thin layer of clear glass is placed between the 2 layers to protect the color of the core. I added copper foil dragonflies, reduced the silver glass and encased in Double Helix Zephyr. Creamy pinks and blues resulted with peeks of the juicy orange shows through.
