Queen's Court Sampler - Part 3 Results

This post will cover the last of the test beads using the CiM - Creation Is Messy glass colors within the Nortel Queen's Court Sampler pack.

This first set of crystal  and barrel shaped beads were created with stripes of the following Limited Run colors:
Ocher, an opaque yellow
Monarch, an opaque yellow orange
Budgerigar, a misty opal kiwi green
Oobleck, an opaque vibrant acid green
Each bead was sprinkled with Val Cox rare Purple Rose made with Z-99 glass frit. 
I rarely use my small supply of this frit as it is no longer available for purchase.
A few beads got a wrap of 99% fine silver wire which was melted in for a tactile feel.

These fine silver wire wrapped beads were created on bases of CiM Butter Pecan, a creamy non reactive opaque beige and CiM Maroon Ltd Run, a dense maroon red. 
The glass melted smoothly and there was no adverse reaction against the silver so colors stayed true.

These mini beads were created on bases of CiM Red Alert Ltd Run, a bright red and CiM Blue Arrow Frog Ltd Run, a bright opaque blue. 
Simple dots of CiM Peace for a classic look.

The next few posts for this blog will review some colors within another Nortel Sampler named Bountiful Harvest as well as previewing new 2020 CiM color releases!

Playing the CiM Glass Comparison Game!

I just received the latest newsletter from CiM - Creation Is Messy. 
Lots of information about what Kathy has planned over the next few months.
CiM's extensive list of colors to a new beadmaker may seem overwhelming. 
Beautiful colors with amazingly creative names.
Kathy’s organization by hue palette has allowed me to mix and match color families easily.

Within the newsletter, a list was provided with options for color substitutions within the CiM color palette. I hope this list can be added to the CiM Website as an easy access reference guide for artists that have not yet signed up for the email newsletter.

In this post, I am sharing a couple of comparisons that I completed in the summer and forgot to post in my blog.

I used a selection of CiM glasses and tested with various treatments.
Hopefully each graphic is self explanatory.

CiM Glass testing.... Always Fun to use new colors!

Just a quick post to show you some new CiM - Creation is Messy colors I have been testing!

First up... CiM's Aloe Juice, a lovely transparent green.
These beads are a base of CiM Aloe Juice with streams of Double Helix silver glass, Aurae, resulting in shiny goodness!

Next up... CiM's Cake Batter. This color is so new, it is not on the CiM website yet!

Cake Batter is a creamy ivory. I paired it with Val Cox Painter's Series, Royal Ballet.  The result is a set of beads with pairings of  Raku with a chorus of pinks ranging from super soft to super intense.

This set is created on a base of CiM's Larkspur, a limited run that has been around for a bit.

It is a transparent color that shifts between blue and lavender depending on your lighting. These nuggets are Val Cox Rio Nights frit swirled among the Larkspur to create these beads.

Finally is a set of beads with one of my favorite CiM glasses that unfortunately is no longer in production, CiM's Butter Pecan.

It is a joy to work with its creamy consistency. It makes this Double Helix Terranova 2 frit pop!
