CiM - Creation Is Messy 2023 New Color - Volcanic Ash Milky Ltd Run

CiM - Creation Is Messy created a number of new limited run colors for 2023 that were based on popular colors from the past.

Today, I am showing off a couple of beads for the new Volcanic Ash Milky Ltd Run.

Volcanic Ash is based on older CiM color French Grey turned into a misty/milky opal.
The beads within this post are created with the milky sister.

I used Volcanic Ash Milky as the base on which a layer of Jetage Studio's Lumiere Luster named Strawberry Rhubarb was added.

This luster is a gorgeous color shifting flake that is a bright deep peachy-pinks that shift to bright greens to deep greens and yellow depending on the angle it is viewed.

The luster glitter flakes were encased with Double Helix Zephyr and shaped into cube beads.

The round spacers are pure Volcanic Ash Milky to show the glass on its own.
It is a classic grey.

I have noticed in the last few beads made with Lumiere Lusters that encasing with clear seems to have a noticable separation between the luster flakes and the clear glass if the layer of luster is too thick. It does not appear to be a crack from compatibility, but rather the fact that I may have used too much flakes in the luster layer.

I plan to test again using other clear glasses to determine the right balance of glitter as the clear glass provides a perfect magnification of the shine.

All the new CiM colors for 2023 are available through Nortel in Toronto through their online shopping cart. I suggest ordering some very soon before it is gone.
