Paisley Tapestry Inspired With An Unique Shape!

Glass Diversions describes their Persian Paisley frit as a fantastic blending of opaque colors with a few light transparent tones that when mixed together they create a complex blend. It contains a misting of sparkling gold and a reactive Iris Orange (Raku).

I have used this blend many years ago and realized that I needed to replenish my glass frit stash on my recent order.

On a base of CiM - Creation Is Messy's Linen, an opaque neutral beige, this frit was sprinkled and each bead shaped into a Zulu shape.

The combination of these glasses created a classic set of beads that remind me of vintage tapestry!

Although CiM Linen is showing as sold out, I invite you to check out CiM's other neutral glasses to pair with this lovely glass frit!

CiM - Creation Is Messy 2021 Colors - Heather & Yours Truly Ltd Runs

In 2020 CiM - Creation Is Messy introduced a cloudy transparent named Heather Ltd Run
It was extremely well received by the glass community as a unique offering of a pinkish purple.
Glass testers loved the color but found it be a bit temperamental and shocky in the melting process.

The CiM family re-engineered the formula and I am pleased to say in my testing that the new 2021 version of Heather is absolutely lovely to work with.

In the bead set below, I paired 2021 Heather Ltd Run with a new 2021 color called Yours Truly Ltd Run, a lovely transparent purple. I sprinkled Glass Diversions Persian Paisley glass frit on the transparent end of each bead and wrapped 99% fine silver wire around the Heather glass end.

As comparison to CiM's 2020
Heather Ltd Run, I have posted a few views of a set I created last year that seemed to not have been saved to my blog previously.

The barrel bead was created with stripes of CiM Heather and now SOLD OUT CiM's Daydream Ltd Run, A bright blue milky opal that stays translucent. I capped each end with a bit of CiM's Cerulean Ltd Run and wrapped it in 99% fine silver wire. Lots of additional beads were created with each glass to complete the set.

The colors of each glass stayed true with no reaction to the silver and the resulting beads are bright and cheerful for any jewelry design!

A Study in Harvest Hues - Soft Yellows and Peach

This post comes as the autumn wind swirls around us changing our lawns from greens of summer to yellows, oranges and reds of the season.
Today, I have 3 sets of beads to share and news of new yellow glasses from CiM - Creation is Messy.

CiM Painted Hills Ltd Run - an opaque soft yellow that gives a bloom of other shades depending on how you cool and heat the glass while working it.
It is similar to opal yellow so I decided to see how it would mix with fine silver wire.
As you can see from the photo below, it turned the silver wire to a warm golden glow with unique striated effects in each bead.

The other new yellow glass from CiM that I played with last week was Yellow Brick Road Ltd Run. It is another opaque yellow deeper in tone and casts caramel tones as it is heated.
I sprinkled some Glass Diversions Persian Paisley frit and created the twists in the melted in frit.

The last set for this post is a older limited run CiM - Creation is Messy glass named Nectar.
It is a peachy transparent which is unique to the color palette and I sprinkled in a Glass Diversions frit named Firecracker. This blend is a mix of cherry cold red, indigo, pinks with iris orange raku.
