A classic cream glass, CiM's Butter Pecan was rolled in 99% fine silver foil and sprinkled with frit from Robin Koza. The frit has webbed among the micro drops of silver to create a rich set of 11 lentil beads. A timeless classic for both casual and business fashions!

Materials: Effetre and Double Helix  Glasses


This unique set of 7 beads were created with a combination of Effetre Clear glass and dewdrops of Double Helix silver glass, Terra 2.
The silver glass was added, struck and reduced to mother of pearl shine and then encased to create the colourful droplets of colour of the silver infused glass.
The result is gentle hues of amber, palest pinks and blues in each encased bubble.

Is it hot in your area?

My gosh, it is hot for July in Eastern Canada.
So hot that it really reduces my time at the torch to before sunrise or after sunset.

Here are a few sets for this week, more in the works for the next few weeks as I have time to clean and photograph them. Looking forward to some time devoted to the glass studio at the start of August as I have to get a jump on fall themed bead sets.

Victoria Day, the first warm long weekend holiday in Canada for 2011!

For Canadians, Victoria Day long weekend is the kick off for the summer season. We have been plagued by wet, wet, and more wet weather over the past 2 weeks, so it was wonderful to see the sun today.
The rainy weather seems to put many of us lampwork artists in a bit of a creative slump, so I am looking forward to the sun to recharge us and have more unique offerings to our clients over the next weeks ahead. Here are the first of the new sets.

Blue Blue Silver Orbs
Materials: Effetre and Double Helix Glasses and 99% Fine Silver Wire

This set of 8 encased round beads were created on a base of limited edition Double Helix silver glass, Psyche Light.
This glass starts as a transparent purple, but when each bead core was wrapped in 99% fine silver wire and reduced the core transforms into a spectrum of dramatic of blues.
Each result was then captured under a thick encasement of Effetre clear glass.

Salted Citrus
Materials: Effetre and Vetrofond Glasses

These etched glass beads were created on a Effetre and Vetrofond bases of transparent glass with clear Effetre glass frit to create a "salted" effect on the surface.
These 20 beads resemble the hues of lime, lemon and orange and blood orange! This set has lots of beads for your spring and summer creations.

Silver'd Apricot Rose Flats

These 9 handformed flat tab beads were created on a base of Effetre Yellow Apricot. Handmade twisties of Effetre Dark Rose and CiM's Hades were swirled and scrolled. The combination of the Rose and Hades brings out a silver'd sheen at different angles to compliment the pink hues. Ten Yellow Apricot spacer beads complete this one of a kind set.

The Love Sonnet beads have been etched to provide a smooth tactile feel to each bead, while leaving the dotted and sugar beads with their glossy shine. Perfect for the spring and summer season! Gunmetal is so 2011 and will be a trend for fashion into 2012 as well!

This set of 8 lentil beads was created on a base of CiM Gunmetal glass. These are glass beads, but the surface of the glass is amazing in how it transforms to a metallic surface with a range of hues from silver blues to pinks to brassy golds. The selection of beads have a mottled finish reminscent of hammered gunmetal.

On a bases of Effetre's Zucca, Apple Blush and CiM's Elphaba, handmade Pendragonfyre raku shards were carefully placed and gently reduced to bring out the shades of browns, tans, creams to contrast with the bright summery hues of the base glass.
