Testing A New Glass Frit - Glass Diversions Praline

I am working through all the new glass frits as part of my restock for 2024. 
A new frit to me is Glass Diversions Praline. It is described as an earthy blend has wonderful browns, tan, rust, copper & gold tones.  

I used a neutral CiM - Creation Is Messy's glass named Buttermilk as a base for this set of tile beads. This glass was a creamy opaque ivory with silver content. This glass is showing as SOLD OUT, but CiM's neutral palette has some other options.

I love the color patterns the glass frit created when I twisted each bead surface. 

This is a lovely blend that I am looking forward to trying on other pastel glass bases in future!

CiM - Creation Is Messy Color 2022 - Dusty Rose Ltd Run

Kathy at CiM is always sharing with her testers a few extra surprise rods each testing season. Dusty Rose Ltd Run was one of the special rods for 2022 due to a very limited production run.

It is a cloudy transparent with a peachy pink tone.

Starting on a base of this glass, I layered dots of CiM's Buttermilk Ltd Run, a creamy opaque ivory with silver, and a silver glass from my stash of 2016 Double Helix Garage Sale simply labelled as OP.e, opaque purple speckled luster which I treated in the flame 2 specific ways (see below)

Clear portal dots of  Double Helix Zephyr were added to capture the stormed reaction of the silver glass.

• The double bump beads - the silver glass was not reduced before adding the Zephyr

• The single bump beads - the silver glass was slightly reduced before adding the Zephyr.

The resulting difference is very noticeable as the reduced silver glass has a blue mother of pearl shine vs the golden amber storms under the Zephyr clear portals on the double bump beads.

Dots of Double Helix Aurae Light complete each bead.

Spacers are pure Dusty Rose.

CiM - Creation is Messy - Buttermilk

CiM - Creation is Messy Buttermilk is an creamy opaque ivory that I sometimes struggle to use with anything other than silver glass. Silver glass will tend to fume the base glass and the true color disappears.

This glass is classified as a yellow, but in the rod it is really a neutral ivory.

In the set below, I decided to go the glass frit testing route and paired it with Glass Diversions Himalayan Rose mix. 
This no mess glass frit is a mix of gold, pinks and purples that look great with the CiM Buttermilk base glass.

The base glass stayed true and you can see the comparison in the photo below where the spacer beads are visible.

I picked up this glass at Nortel back during my visit early this year and I look forward to trying it again in a few more sets. Reach out to Jean if you are interested in snatching some up before it is gone.

New CiM Colors for Fall 2017 - Autumn Earth Tones

In the latest selection of new CiM - Creation is Messy colors, there are several earth tone hues.

This set uses the combinations in line wrapped round beads and demonstrates the crispness of the glass in each stringer.

Each of these colors are Limited Runs so snatch them up quickly.

CiM Monarch and CiM Harvest - both opaque oranges
CiM Buttermilk - an opaque pale yellow
CiM Canoe - an opaque silver brown

Each of these colors flowed easily with no shockiness or bleeding. 
Great option for autumn inspired jewelry creations.

I had a bit of glass left over from making this set, so I created a few necklace beads with the glasses.
