A reward for a busy week.... a rainy Saturday??
I am sure that you have heard the old saying, "No one ever said that life was fair".
This was no better illustrated to me over this past week. It was a crazy week, busy at the office as we were promoting both the importance of Wellness/Life Balance (yes, we must be reminded on a regular basis) as well as launching our annual United Way fundraising campaign.
Based on the whirlwind week that I had, I would have enjoyed a reward of a sunny October weekend. Instead, I woke to rain drops spreading across my bedroom window and a reminder of all the laundry sitting in my hamper that needed to be done.
So, thus the dilemma, give in to the "gray cloud" outlook for my day, or find some "alternate sunshine". Over my first cup of coffee, (thank you Albert, my son!), I rewound my internal memory machine and reminded myself of my week's "sunshine".
This week was a great week for practicing my new skill of hypnosis. It is so easy to introduce the idea of hypnosis for change to those I met over the past week by simply offering to allow others to experience "how it feels". By the end of the week, I had completed 8 introductory sessions allowing participants to simply feel how good it is to spend 20 minutes in a complete relaxation session. From a mother with a desire for a more restful sleep, a future athlete striving to compete at the Olympic level, and a colleague embarking on a new career, I was excited to show how each could make change within themselves through hypnosis.
By the time that I finished my coffee, I noticed that the light in my room was brighter, so maybe there is something to the power of positive thinking... I am ready to pour another cup of coffee and head out to my glass studio for the afternoon. Why waste a rainy day? It is a perfect opportunity to clear out those "internal clouds" and find my own "sunny moments".
How will YOU BRING some SUNSHINE into YOUR world today?

One More Plug for My Suppliers
I realized that in highlighting my suppliers from my recent trip to Toronto, I should have provided a plug for my other exclusive supplier for all my metal/chainmaille supplies.
I haven't had the opportunity to visit them at their location in Saskatchewan, but their customer service and assistance, feels like I am part of their extended family!
The Ring Lord (fun name!), is my exclusive supplier for my precious metals (silver, gold filled, copper, & bronze) for all my chainmaille designs. Jon and Bernice Daniels provide an extensive supply of jump rings, wire and metal jewelry tools via their website.
They also maintain an artisan's forum for sharing information as well as a Merchant's page to promote those of use in the industry.
Check out their website. Their service is great, prices very fair and shipping is quick!
I may be giving away all my industry secrets over these last two postings, but when you get great service and supplies, I can't keep them secret!
Til next time!

My Favorite Suppliers!
On my recent trip to Toronto, I had the wonderful opportunity to visit two of my favorite suppliers.
My gemstone supplier is Bling Bling on Queen St.
This store is a real find among the other jewelry industry suppliers in Toronto. The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable and they have a real desire to work with their clients. Their website is a bit limited in its information, but the store has an extensive inventory of semi precious stones.
Drop Ms. Law an email if you are located outside of Toronto.
If you within the GTA region, her store is definitely a worthwhile trip.
I have a new supplier that I am excited to be working with. Fantasy In Glass is located at 709 The Queensway in Toronto. The owner, Mikey Fig, assisted me in choosing equipment to upgrade my lampworking/ glass fusing workshop.
Rare in Canada, Fantasy in Glass deals in Bullseye Glass. I was able to hand select my fusing glass, choose my torch, oxygen concentrator and tools on site. They were prepared for shipping by Mikey and arrived in Moncton ready for me when I returned from my trip.
Mike Fig is a glass supplier that I will deal with exclusively as he took the time with me as a client. He provided me a 5 minute lesson in glass cutting, that I had previously struggled with for weeks at home (my previous tries ended in resorting with a hammer :)).
I have my new torch setup up and I LOVE Bullseye Glass!!! The colours are much more vibrant than Moretti and my creative spark is burning bright. Expect to see some of this new work appearing on the website over the next few weeks!
Check out the website and Mikey's Blog. Thank you Mikey, we will chat soon!
Now it is time for me to get back to my torch, it is a rainy day here so there is no better excuse to play!!
I will post photos of my studio set up within the next few weeks, not a lot of time for photos... I am too busy playing!
Til next time, smiles
