Victoria Day, the first warm long weekend holiday in Canada for 2011!

For Canadians, Victoria Day long weekend is the kick off for the summer season. We have been plagued by wet, wet, and more wet weather over the past 2 weeks, so it was wonderful to see the sun today.
The rainy weather seems to put many of us lampwork artists in a bit of a creative slump, so I am looking forward to the sun to recharge us and have more unique offerings to our clients over the next weeks ahead. Here are the first of the new sets.

Blue Blue Silver Orbs
Materials: Effetre and Double Helix Glasses and 99% Fine Silver Wire


This set of 8 encased round beads were created on a base of limited edition Double Helix silver glass, Psyche Light.
This glass starts as a transparent purple, but when each bead core was wrapped in 99% fine silver wire and reduced the core transforms into a spectrum of dramatic of blues.
Each result was then captured under a thick encasement of Effetre clear glass.




Salted Citrus
Materials: Effetre and Vetrofond Glasses

These etched glass beads were created on a Effetre and Vetrofond bases of transparent glass with clear Effetre glass frit to create a "salted" effect on the surface.
These 20 beads resemble the hues of lime, lemon and orange and blood orange! This set has lots of beads for your spring and summer creations.



Ceres
Goddess Bead Series #88

"Roman myth name of the goddess of agriculture, meaning to grow"


Materials: Effetre, CiM - Creation is Messy and Double Helix Glasses

This set of 9 goddess series beads were created on a base of rare unique CiM Elphaba #2, dark petroleum green, with layered dots of Effetre Light Ivory and mixtures of CiM Sangre and Double Helix Olympic Rain silver infused glass. Highlights of Double Helix's Aurae, create the bling dots and eight coordinating spacers are included in this set.



Silver'd Apricot Rose Flats
Materials: CiM - Creation is Messy and Effetre Glasses

These 9 handformed flat tab beads were created on a base of Effetre Yellow Apricot. Handmade twisties of Effetre Dark Rose and CiM's Hades were swirled and scrolled. The combination of the Rose and Hades brings out a silver'd sheen at different angles to compliment the pink hues. Ten Yellow Apricot spacer beads complete this one of a kind set.



Lime Garden Mix
Love Sonnet Series #15
Materials: Effetre, CiM -Creation is Messy Glasses and Mixed Raku Glass Frit

This set of lime themed beads were created with CiM Elphaba and Effetre Lime and clear glasses. Love Sonnet beads have sprinkling of handmixed Pendragonfyre Love Sonnet frit and are coordinated with dotted and sugared beads. The Love Sonnet beads have been etched to provide a smooth tactile feel to each bead, while leaving the dotted and sugar beads with their glossy shine. Perfect for the spring and summer season! Six spacer beads are included in this set.



May Orphans
Materials: CiM, Effetre, Trautman Art and Double Helix Glasses

This set of orphans are the various color and bead trials over the past 4 weeks. Lots created with silver glass and 99% fine silver wire! Lots of shapes and sizes including barrels, flat tabs and rounds. With 110 beads, there is lots of opportunity for many jewelry and art ideas.

Gunmetal Lentils

Materials: CiM - Creation is Messy Glasses

Gunmetal is so 2011 and will be a trend for fashion into 2012 as well!

This set of 8 lentil beads was created on a base of CiM Gunmetal glass. These are glass beads, but the surface of the glass is amazing in how it transforms to a metallic surface with a range of hues from silver blues to pinks to brassy golds. The selection of beads have a mottled finish reminscent of hammered gunmetal.



Summer Raku

Materials: Effetre and CiM - Creation is Messy Glass and Handmade Raku Shards

On a bases of Effetre's Zucca, Apple Blush and CiM's Elphaba, handmade Pendragonfyre raku shards were carefully placed and gently reduced to bring out the shades of browns, tans, creams to contrast with the bright summery hues of the base glass.




Silver Glass Selection

Materials: Effetre, Trautman Art (TAG) and Double Helix Glasses

This set of 5 handformed flat beads were created on a base of Double Helix silver glass, Kronos on which swirls of Trautman Art Glass, Golden Emerald was added.
Each result was then captured under a thick encasement of Effetre clear glass and dotted with DH Aurae and reduced to bring out the metallic shine.



Fresh Green Silver Orbs

Materials: Effetre and Double Helix Glasses and 99% Fine Silver Wire

This set of 8 encased round beads were created on a base of rare test Double Helix silver glass, known as OX-380. OX-380 a peridot green, jewel super luster that when each bead core was wrapped in 99% fine silver wire and reduced to createthe dramatic hues of spring green and cream. Each result was then captured under a thick encasement of Effetre clear glass.

  1. I was lucky to be in Victoria and Vancouver over the Victoria Day weekend. My first ever trip to Canada - what a lovely place and great weather too. Didn't have time to search out glassy stuff, but nice to be back home now and see your splendidly cheery output. I love looking at your beads.
